Project overview: This web app development project aimed to create a comprehensive solution for medical technology companies to meet the post-market surveillance requirements of the industry.
Problem Statement
The UX/UI design of the web app was facing critical challenges that hinder its ability to provide a seamless and user-centric experience. The absence of a well-defined user flow and design system has resulted in inconsistencies, confusion, and disorganization throughout the app.

User Portal

The User Portal serves as the web app's central hub, granting users access to crucial features and functions. It presents a user-friendly interface for effortless management of training, product information, feedback submission, and support requests.
We collaborated to enhance the user flow and information hierarchy, ensuring quicker access to the user's essential needs.

When we modify small screens or individual UI elements, we have the opportunity to optimize the user flow. A well-thought-out redesign can eliminate unnecessary or redundant steps, making it easier and more efficient for users to achieve their goals.

This is particularly crucial for tasks like login, where users expect a quick and hassle-free experience.

Admin Portal

The admin portal serves as the nerve center of the web application, granting administrators comprehensive control and oversight over critical system components. It acts as the command center for efficiently managing users, products, trainings, feedback, as well as support issues and CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions).

As a Junior UX/UI Designer, I actively contributed to every stage of the design process.

User flow
Now, let's talk about the user flow.

When I started the project, one way of approaching it that has worked for me is to conduct my own usability testing.

What does that mean? I asked the team to explain solely the functionality of the app to me. This way, while testing it, I could identify steps that were difficult for me. We need to be aware that the app lacks a guided tutorial and a well-defined user flow map that would make it easier to simplify the general flow. This could potentially affect the success of tasks when new users are onboarding.

So, I've decided to propose that I work on implementing solutions to improve visualization and address any frictions that users may encounter. (Below you can find one of the flow to publish a training and linking it to a product.
Design system and rules
While the entire app had already been developed before I started working on the project, they hadn't had the opportunity to collaborate with a UX/UI Designer who could establish color rules, modal rules, and a design system. As a result, I decided to build these elements to ensure a cohesive and enhanced app appearance.

One of the goals of the app is to give the user (companies) the opportunity to define their own color theme. However, we need to be cautious about this customization, as users might unknowingly choose low contrast colors. This can negatively affect accessibility, lead to confusion between primary and secondary actions, and disrupt the overall user flow.

Therefore, we planned to implement checks and smart programming rules to prevent issues related to low contrast and ensure a user-friendly experience. (Rules examples below)
